Propaganda Map

Propaganda maps are a little similar to mental maps. The maps are used to pursue an idea, show power, give an example, or show emotions such as anger or fear. They are created usually created by distortion of reality. The Propaganda map above was taken from Life magazine issue January 26, 1953. The map was use to show the the danger of Western Europeans collaborating in with "East European communists" during the Cold War. The red creature on the map is pumping military supplies from the West into Eastern Europe, whom are the "Communist East Germany". This map was intended to bring fear upon the community and hate towards the Eastern Europeans.
